In 2025, Chaucer Group and BreachBits® have strengthened partnership and focused on meeting unique needs of digital asset, critical infrastructure, and industrial companies through two collective partnerships. These partnerships have grown out of development with several brokers and carriers in the Lloyd's market.

Partnership Forged in the Lab

Chaucer and BreachBits began partnering during the award-winning Lloyd's Lab insurtech accelerator in London in 2024, as a part of cohort 13. Lloyd's Lab draws innovative companies from across the globe on behalf of Lloyd's market members as a way for members to select the most present and developing challenges.

Chaucer joined 3 other carriers and 5 brokers that selected BreachBits to embark on the 100-day design-build-pilot accelerator. Ben Marsh, Chaucer cyber class underwriter, and Christopher Norwood, Cyber Analyst at the Chaucer Cyber Centre of Excellence led Chaucer's participation in the group, heavily contributing to the core solutions developed and launched by BreachBits.

Core traction since the lab

In December 2024, BreachBits launched 2 products focused on meeting the core challenge identified by the market members in Lloyd's Lab: "How can brokers and carriers better meet the accelerating demand for cyber insurance?" And, "How can this be done smartly in the face of malicious hackers?"

The team identified a roadmap of solutions focused around reducing friction for policyholder, brokers, carriers, and reinsurance. As a "flagship" line of effort, in 2025 BreachBits deployed The Cyber Questionnaire Validator and Cyber Pre-Claim intervention (the 2 products developed out of Lloyd's Lab) with a leading Lloyd's cyber carrier, gaining traction and validation in the market.

Tackling Chaucer Priorities

While flagship efforts materialized, BreachBits also worked in parallel with Chaucer to solve other key challenges in the market: "How can we incentivize mature ERM and security practices - how can our policyholders get credit for effective security investments they've made over the years?"

Digital assets: The Native Risk Collective

Enter the Native Risk Collective. Native is a global Lloyd's broker dedicated to digital asset companies, including cryptocurrency. Native launched the Native Risk Collective - aligning carriers Chaucer and Mosaic in an insurance partnership framework that rewards strong security practices for cyber liability, tech E&O, and crime policies.

The collective was announced July 2025 and includes a select group of vendors, including BreachBits, that help policyholders implement and prove good practices and unlock advantageous discounts on premiums.

Chaucer Vanguard: industrial and critical infrastructure

Chaucer and BreachBits collaborated throughout 2025 on the Chaucer Vanguard services catalogue. Launched in October 2025, Chaucer Vanguard is a new primary business policy focuses on complex business including industrial and critical infrastructure.

Chaucer Vanguard is accompanied by a services catalogue with select security service providers, including BreachBits, that contribute across the spectrum of mature security processes: govern, identify, detect, protect, and respond.

What's Next

The traction in partnerships between Chaucer and BreachBits highlights the dedication and innovative nature of both teams in meeting the accelerating demands for cyber insurance in the worldwide Lloyd's market. It also emphasizes the continued importance of the industrial and infrastructure sectors, and the growing importance of the digital asset space.

BreachBits continues to deploy flagship capabilities to brokers and carriers deployed out of Lloyd's Lab and integrated into BreachRisk™ for Insurance: The Cyber Questionnaire Validator and Pre-Claim Intervention. These products support policyholders, brokers, and carriers to meet the growing demand for cyber insurance. They will also drive standardization and improve trust in the ecosystem that will benefit global markets.

Chaucer and BreachBits partnerships will continue to develop, focusing on digital assets, industrial sectors, and critical infrastructures, especially where complex factors are in play - and where "getting it right" with mature security practices matters for policyholders, brokers, and carriers.
